RF-Remote-Controlled LED Mixing Color Lighting Board
Control the color and brightness of a lamp or run an automatic color light animation program to suit your mood, the music you are playing, the film you are watching or even the weather outside! The color light is generated by three LEDs in the colors red, green and blue and a MSP430 controls the brightness of each LED with constant current generated by three TPS62260 buck converters, one for each LED.
In conjunction with the eZ430-RF2500 development tool the TPS62260LED-338 board can be extended with a wireless remote control. This tool gives designers a fully supported platform to develop new and exciting color lighting innovations for consumer, commercial, professional and architectural applications.
This design example shows how to drive the Golden DRAGON RGB LEDs from OSRAM Opto Semiconductors. The color is generated by three LEDs (red, greed and blue). An MSP430 ultra-low power microcontroller controls the brightness of each LED with constant current generated by three TPS62260 buck converters, one for each LED. The TPS62260 (600mA) converter IC is also pin compatible with the TPS62240 (300mA) buck converter for lower current LED applications and the TPS62290 (1000mA) for higher current LED applications.
In additional CC2500 low-power RF transceiver is used to set up the wireless remote-control link.
