Founded in 1900, RAFI now produces electromechanical and optical components such as pushbuttons and switches, signal lamps, operating systems, keyboards, and electronic components and systems for man-machine communication. These products are employed in more than 30 industries, e.g. in lighting applications, ultrasonic and X-ray devices, machine controls, road and railway vehicles, home applications, internet access and internet telephony technology. RAFI performs as well EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) and produces several general lighting projects for various customers. The expertise in LED technology enables RAFI to offer design and development for general lighting projects and the production for box-build products according customer requirements. Due to a strong vertical integration RAFI can benefit from the internal processes for electronic assembly, plastic molding and metal work and is well prepared for the specific requirements of high brightness LED-technology. The RAFI group operates internationally with approx. 1,700 employees in seven manufacturing companies and three distribution companies. The development, logistics, production, marketing, sales, and personnel departments are located at the company’s headquarters in Berg (Baden-Württemberg, Germany).
